Famous Cadets
UCLA in the
60's was a dominant college basketball dynasty and so through the
friendship of Coach John Wooden and PMS Colonel Raymond Ashby the Army
ROTC unit had a number of famous college athletes among its
members. The most famous of these cadets was Arthur Ashe who was
commissioned in 1966. Other athlete cadets included Gail
Goodrich, Walt Hazard, Freddie Goss, Michael Warren, Eric Taylor, and
many more.
